This copycat Mexican Pizza features layers of refried beans, taco-seasoned beef, cheese, and a tangy tomato sauce between crispy tortillas — baked until bubbly and topped with fresh tomato and green onion.
8 medium flour tortillas
1 lb ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning
1 can refried beans
1½ cups shredded Mexican cheese
1 cup tomato sauce
1 tsp chili powder
½ tsp cumin
½ tsp sugar
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp onion powder
Hot sauce to taste
Diced tomatoes & green onions for topping
Preheat oven to 400°F. Bake or pan-fry tortillas until crisp.
Brown ground beef; add taco seasoning and water. Simmer 5 minutes.
In saucepan, combine tomato sauce and seasonings. Simmer 5–7 minutes.
On 4 tortillas, spread refried beans, then meat. Top each with another tortilla.
Spread sauce on top. Sprinkle with cheese.
Bake 8–10 minutes, until melted and golden.
Top with tomatoes, green onions, and any extras. Slice and serve.
Use hot honey or pickled jalapeños for extra kick.
