A golden, crispy sandwich filled with juicy chicken, melted cheese, and savory toppings — perfect for lunch, dinner, or a cozy snack.
1½ cups cooked chicken (shredded or sliced)
4 slices sandwich bread (sourdough or Texas toast)
4 slices cheddar, Swiss, or provolone cheese
2 tbsp butter or mayonnaise
½ small onion, caramelized (optional)
1 tomato, thinly sliced (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: Dijon mustard, bacon, avocado
Warm chicken in skillet with seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic powder).
Spread butter or mayo on outsides of bread slices.
Inside, layer cheese, chicken, toppings, and more cheese. Top with second bread slice.
Grill in skillet over medium heat, 3–5 minutes per side, until golden and melty.
Slice and serve warm.
