A golden, crispy sandwich filled with juicy chicken, melted cheese, and savory toppings — perfect for lunch, dinner, or a cozy snack.

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups cooked chicken (shredded or sliced)

  • 4 slices sandwich bread (sourdough or Texas toast)

  • 4 slices cheddar, Swiss, or provolone cheese

  • 2 tbsp butter or mayonnaise

  • ½ small onion, caramelized (optional)

  • 1 tomato, thinly sliced (optional)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Optional: Dijon mustard, bacon, avocado

Instructions

  • Warm chicken in skillet with seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic powder).

  • Spread butter or mayo on outsides of bread slices.

  • Inside, layer cheese, chicken, toppings, and more cheese. Top with second bread slice.

  • Grill in skillet over medium heat, 3–5 minutes per side, until golden and melty.

  • Slice and serve warm.

Notes

Customize with herbs, sauces, or additional fillings. Great with soup, chips, or pickles.
