This easy beef and broccoli stir-fry features tender steak, crisp broccoli, and a savory garlic-ginger soy sauce. Better than takeout and ready in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank or sirloin steak, thinly sliced

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (for beef)

  • 3 cups broccoli florets

  • 2 tbsp oil (divided)

  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup water or broth

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • 2 tsp cornstarch (for sauce)

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated

  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil

  • Optional: red pepper flakes, sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Toss steak with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let sit 10–15 minutes.

  • Mix sauce ingredients: soy sauce, water, sugar, cornstarch, garlic, ginger.

  • Stir-fry broccoli in 1 tbsp oil for 3–4 minutes. Remove and set aside.

  • Add remaining oil, sear steak in batches 2–3 minutes per side.

  • Return broccoli to pan. Pour in sauce. Stir and simmer 2–3 minutes.

  • Finish with sesame oil. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Slice beef against the grain for tenderness.

  • Add extra veggies to stretch the recipe.

  • Great for meal prep—keeps 3–4 days.
