Creamy Parmesan Italian Sausage is a rich, one-skillet dinner made with savory sausage, garlic, and a luscious parmesan cream sauce. Perfect over pasta, potatoes, or low-carb veggies.
1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy)
1 small onion or 2 shallots, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp butter
1 cup heavy cream
½ cup chicken broth
¾ cup grated parmesan cheese
1 tsp Italian seasoning
¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt & pepper to taste
Fresh parsley or basil, for garnish
Optional: 2 cups baby spinach or ¼ cup dry white wine
Brown sausage in skillet over medium heat. Set aside.
In same pan, sauté onion in butter until soft. Add garlic and cook 1 min.
Deglaze with wine (if using). Add cream and broth, stir well.
Stir in parmesan, seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Simmer until thickened.
Return sausage to pan. Add spinach if using. Simmer 2–3 more minutes.
Serve hot over pasta, mashed potatoes, or veggies. Garnish with herbs.
Store leftovers up to 3 days.
Substitute turkey sausage for a lighter version.
Add mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, or kale for variation.
