Creamy Parmesan Italian Sausage is a rich, one-skillet dinner made with savory sausage, garlic, and a luscious parmesan cream sauce. Perfect over pasta, potatoes, or low-carb veggies.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy)

  • 1 small onion or 2 shallots, diced

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • ½ cup chicken broth

  • ¾ cup grated parmesan cheese

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Fresh parsley or basil, for garnish

  • Optional: 2 cups baby spinach or ¼ cup dry white wine

Instructions

  • Brown sausage in skillet over medium heat. Set aside.

  • In same pan, sauté onion in butter until soft. Add garlic and cook 1 min.

  • Deglaze with wine (if using). Add cream and broth, stir well.

  • Stir in parmesan, seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Simmer until thickened.

  • Return sausage to pan. Add spinach if using. Simmer 2–3 more minutes.

  • Serve hot over pasta, mashed potatoes, or veggies. Garnish with herbs.

Notes

  • Store leftovers up to 3 days.

  • Substitute turkey sausage for a lighter version.

  • Add mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, or kale for variation.
